2007 Statistics

 
 

Our 2007 Statistics are in, the facts are frightening.  If your company is not doing proper background checks here is what you are up against.  The following numbers represent background checks and drug tests conducted by C3 Intelligence:
 

  •  8.9% of the County Criminal checks revealed a misdemeanor or felony criminal record.
  • 39.5% of Motor Vehicle Records reflected motor vehicle violations including Driving  Suspensions, DUI’s and Possession of Drugs.

  • 38.4% of Credit Reports possessed negative information, including Bankruptcy’s    and Liens.

  • 47.9% of past Employment Verifications had inconsistencies regarding start and termination dates as well as positions held.

  • 34.5% of Education Verifications revealed false or inconsistent information.

  •  7.3% of Professional License Verifications had false or inconsistent information.

  • 7.0% of applicants checked had filed a previous worker’s compensation claim.

  • 6.9% of the Drug Tests conducted were positive.

So your company has decided to establish a background screening program, what now? There are many companies and they all claim to be the best, so who do you trust? Does it really matter who you choose, they are all the same aren’t they? Some promise “instant results” others claim to be the industry leaders. What to do…especially with the flurry of multimillion dollar lawsuits that hang in the wings if they can’t do what they promise.

During my tenure I maintained a top secret security clearance while protecting America’s leaders and financial infrastructure. I received extensive training in intelligence and routinely conducted complex domestic and international investigations. Several of the most noteworthy cases I investigated were the Oklahoma City Bombing and the attacks on the World Trade Center.
 
Prior to my time as a government employee I worked in a corporate management position as well as a sworn police officer. These experiences have allowed me to develop a complete understanding of the business environment and the challenges that today’s business managers face.
